Frequently asked questions

What does GradeMyWeb check?

We run 19 passive checks across 6 categories: email security (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), legal compliance (Impressum, SSL, GDPR, consent manager), analytics setup (GA4, Search Console, session recording), AI and search readiness (robots.txt, schema markup, hreflang, llms.txt), performance (PageSpeed score, response time), and content quality (Open Graph, sitemap, mobile, contact, social links, freshness, broken links).

Is the scan free?

Yes. The scan and your grade are completely free. Enter your email to unlock the full report with detailed findings and recommendations.

How long does a scan take?

Most scans complete within 30-60 seconds. We run all checks in parallel to keep it fast.

Is the scan safe for my website?

Absolutely. All checks are passive. We only read publicly available information like DNS records, HTTP headers, HTML source, and public API data. We never modify anything on your site.

What do the grades mean?

Grades range from A (excellent, score 9-10 across categories) to F (critical issues). A site with any category scoring 3 or below is capped at grade C. Two or more weak categories cap the grade at D.

Why do you need my email?

Your email unlocks the full detailed report. We send a one-time verification code. We do not share your email or send marketing without your consent.

How often should I scan my site?

We recommend scanning after any major change to your site, DNS, or hosting. SSL certificates expire, analytics configurations change, and content goes stale. A quarterly check is a good baseline.
